“I'm not sentimental--I'm as romantic as you are. The idea, you know is that the sentimental person thinks things will last--the romantic person has a desperate confidence that they won't.”
-F. Scott Fitzgerald
It starts with an idea. Lorri, a local designer dreams of adornments, sketches them and then creates floaty ethereal headpieces for women to wear on special occasions. The styles range from boho to glamour and all of the adornments have an underlying romantic aesthetic. To share her pieces with the world, Lorri wanted soft, dreamy photographs that were both natural and artistic. I was asked to assemble a creative team and bring her vision to life and working with amazing creatives we aimed to do just that.
Take a behind the scenes look at the work that went into creating these photographs.
The inspiration for the hair and makeup was the color Rose Quartz-a color we all love and one that is also Pantone's 2016 color of the year.
Shooting in the Pacific Northwest means lush green backdrops, but it also means you are on constant notice of rain. We shot outdoors until the drizzle become a downpour and moved the shoot indoors.
The character of the pieces is lovely in color and the details are also emphasized in black and white.
The shoot was a wonderful experience and working with Helen, Alexandra, & Lorri was amazing. Below are favorite photos from the day.
